An Acoustic Source Localization Method Using a Drone-Mounted Phased Microphone Array

Currently, the detection of targets using drone-mounted imaging equipment is a very useful technique and being utilized in many areas. In this study, we focus on acoustic signal with drone detecting where sounds occur, unlike image-based detection. We implement system which detects sources above ground by applying phase difference microphone array technique. Localization methods are based beamforming methods. The background self-induced noise that generated when flies reduces signal-to-noise ratio for signals interest, making it difficult to analyze characteristics. Furthermore, strongly correlated noise, propeller rotates, acts as factor degrades source direction arrival estimation performance method.
